Background: Squishy is the representation of Pashen's writer's block, from the perspective that the traditional definition of it doesn't exist, and rather what we refer to as writer's block is merely the fear that our first thoughts simply aren't good enough to write down.
His purpose is to consume narratives which are forgotten, abandoned or otherwise left unfinished. He's heavily associated with the idea of dropping an idea or retconning a story, commonly being implied as the cause, with implications that he subtly influences authors to do so and exists in the mind of every author.
Unlike Pashen, Squishy isn't afraid to insert himself into a story to directly influence it, and his interactions with characters often include sadistic intentions, a horrific presence, and induced insanity, and sparse or nonexistent memory of the events afterwards.
So far in the story, he had reached out and gifted a phone to Marielle but it was confiscated by Albundir. Though she hardly remembers her interactions, it's been implied his presence may have affected the child Marielle was pregnant with.
Ms. Y is a female alter-ego which Squishy refers to as his girlfriend and slips into and out of fluidly. Her typical avatar looks almost identical, spare for eyelashes and a yellow bow tie on her head. Her demeanor is completely different in many ways and the same in others. She's also judgemental, but rather than the chaotic flair of Squishy she tends to speak with a haughty and formal attitude. Thus far it's unclear if there's a specific purpose to this other personality or if it's just an expression of Squishy's fluid nature.
